Following a seven-day trial in Arizona District Court, attorneys Dan Struck and Ashlee Hesman obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a prison-transportation company and several of its employees. Plaintiff alleged that, during his transport from Mississippi to Arizona in April 2015, Defendants applied his restraints too tightly, which caused permanent nerve damage in his arms, wrists and hands. He brought Eighth Amendment and negligence claims. In closing, Plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury to return a verdict in excess of 5-million dollars. After deliberating for approximately three hours, the jury returned a complete defense verdict.
