Kristina focuses her practice on corrections and law enforcement defense, government liability defense, including defense of 42 U.S.C. Section 1983, and correctional healthcare defense. Kristina works with attorneys in the firm to counsel and defend corrections departments, governmental agencies, and medical providers in Arizona and in multiple states across the U.S.
Prior to joining the firm, Kristina clerked for the Honorable Stephen M. McNamee for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, where she drafted court orders, in collaboration with the Judge, and advised the Judge on complex legal issues in addition to novel legal issues of first impression.
As a law student, Kristina served as a student advocate in the Veterans’ Advocacy Law Clinic, where she represented veterans as a Rule 38(d) certified student in a collaborative courtroom at the Arizona Regional Municipalities Veterans’ Treatment Court at Tucson City Court and the Pima County Justice Court Veterans’ Court. Kristina also served as a Rule 38(d) certified student in the Arizona Attorney General’s Clinic, where she litigated a felony jury trial and obtained a guilty verdict on all counts that went to the jury.

Representative Experience:
Farvela v. Abraham, et al., No. CV-20-02484-PHX-DLR (DMF) (D. Ariz. August 2023): Obtained summary judgment in favor of Defendants in a conditions of confinement lawsuit brought under the Eighth Amendment.

Fuller v. CoreCivic, et al., CV-19-5818-DWL (D. Ariz. March 2022): Obtained summary judgment in favor of Defendants in a failure-to-protect lawsuit brought under the Eighth Amendment.

Olagues v. Mohave County, et al., NO. 3:20-cv-08271-SMB-ESW (D. Ariz. March 2023): Obtained summary judgment in favor of medical staff in a lawsuit out of the Mohave County Jail, in which a detainee alleged that medical staff were deliberately indifferent to his serious medical need in violation of the Eighth Amendment.

Personal
Kristina is an Arizona native. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on Arizona sports teams (Go Devils!), and traveling.
