Emily focuses her practice on corrections and law enforcement defense, government liability defense, including defense of 42 U.S.C. Section 1983, Bivens claims, and state law tort claims. She works in conjunction with attorneys throughout the firm to counsel and defend law enforcement agencies, corrections departments, government agencies, and other public and private entities in Arizona and across the nation.
Prior to joining the firm, Emily served as a law clerk for the Honorable D. Steven Williams at the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One. In her role as a judicial law clerk, Emily conducted extensive legal research and drafted memorandum decisions, in collaboration with the Judge, on a wide range of cases.
As a law student, Emily distinguished herself as the Executive Editor for the Gonzaga Journal of International Law, where she published two student Notes titled: The Persistence of Enforced Disappearance in the Republic of Iraq and Mothers’ Rights are Human Rights. Emily also externed in Geneva, Switzerland for a non-governmental organization affiliated with the United Nations, where she drafted reports, letters, statements, and urgent appeals to UN human rights bodies and delivered three oral statements before the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Emily is an Arizona native. In her spare time, she can be found spending time with her friends and family, traveling, hiking, boxing, and crafting!
